Saving The Orangutans

Hi again,

Orangutang’s, reddish-brown fuzzy mammals and their habitat are disappearing all over Indonesia and Malaysia. The numbers of orangutang’s are decreasing rapidly and are a species we need to protect. We need to stop cutting down the orangutang’s home just so we can get things that we want like paper, palm oil, cerorangutan_640eal boxes, crayons and much more. Some people are even hunting them for food and decoration and secretly giving their bones to souvenir shops. Mother Orangutang’s are even getting killed so that their babies can be sold as pets, but most of them die without the support of its mother anyway. In 2007
the Government of Indonesia estimated a total population of 61,234 Orangutang’s and now there are 41,000. In the early 2,000’s the Orangutang’s habitat has decreased because of forest fires and logging.

If we don’t act now, the Orangutang’s could be gone quicker than you know it!
