Colour Day!

On colour day you dress up in your favourite colour to support people who are blind.

You can bring a gold coin to donate.

In class you could discuss about this topic and create posters to hang around the school.

This is a poem based on the image bellow.

As I sit down next to the rivers side,

I listen to the beautiful water rushing by.

The birds tweet and glide up above,

while i’m down here lying in the scorching sun.

Up so high, the trees stand strong,

while their leaves rustle in the autumn breeze.

I hear the native animals all around me,

as they go about their delightful day.

While you’re busy with your plastic bags do you know the consequences of using them?

When you’re finished using plastic bags they go to landfill, but they take forever to breakdown and they hang around for a very long time. Sometimes they blow away and sail around in currents until they are either eaten by marine life or end up on the shore.

Research shows that we use 4 billion plastic bags a year and 3.5 of those plastic bags are in our ocean. Thousands of marine animals die every year from plastic bags.

Plastic Bags let out lots of horrible things while trying to make them or break them down like green house gasses and fossil fuels. People are debating if we should keep plastic bags or not, but I think we shouldn’t keep plastic bags.

Somethings we can do to help our environment are to use green bags when you go shopping and if we use less plastic bags less goes into our ocean.

Recycling is good ….right? Well this idea is even better!

A few decades ago people came up with an unbelievable idea called upcycling.

If you haven’t upcycled before or heard of it, it is when you use different products that might not usually even be recycled and keep its form of it but you make something new!

Upcycling is something you must try because it stops rubbish going into landfill and creating waste, and a fact is that plastic or electronics stay in landfill for an extremely long time and that is never good for our environment.

There is a solution that everyone can try, and that is to go to an upcycle program that teaches you how to upcycle in different ways. An example that you can try at home is to make a bow out of toothpaste tubes.

5,0000 kids have already tried this and they absolutely loved it and there is no reason why you shouldn’t join them and help our environment.

When its time for twilight sports,

There’s some things you should know,

You’ve got to win for great rewards,

Here they are so lets go!

There’s 3 teams green, red and blue,

There’s a few sports to compete in,

Like long jump and sprints too,

There’s more to know so lets begin,
